Denice & Jordan ~ Victoria Engagement Photography

When Denice contacted me about doing engagement photos for her and Jordan, I was instantly excited! I’ve known these two for quite some time, and I knew they would want something casual, that reflected who they are as a couple.  We talked about a few ideas and they decided that since they live on the Gorge waterfront and spend so much time there, that we would stick close to home and hang out doing some things they love to do, like ride bikes on the galloping goose, have a glass of wine on the dock, and canoe the Gorge in the “green barnacle.”  They also included Jordan’s family dog Ryder, who was such a sucker for the camera!  I really had a fun time with this session and am so pleased to share these images. Congratulations you two, and I hope you have the most amazing wedding in Hawaii!

It was mostly overcast, cold and very windy throughout the session, but then just towards the end the sun made an appearance just as it was setting!

I love their rings! Jordan’s wedding band (which they asked me to photograph along with Denice’s engagement ring) is so awesome. They got it in Hawaii where they are getting married, and it has wood inlaid into it. So unique!

One week!

Wow, what an amazing whirlwind month its been!!  I was in Vancouver two weeks ago for a family session, then Calgary last weekend to photograph a family reunion (which included a parade!! oh yes it did!) I’ve also been busy running around buying/creating/picking up last minute stuff for the wedding…because yes, our BIG DAY is happening in ONE WEEK!  I can’t believe after 6 months of planning its finally here!!

I would love to have the time to write a very insightful post about planning a wedding, my perspective as a photographer, etc. but that will have to wait until July.

I have a very busy week ahead with my bridal shower, hair trial, location scouting with my ahhh-mazing photographer, and last minute errands.  But I’m going to try and take a few moments each day to just enjoy the process, to soak up the moments and whatever emotions they may bring.  I can’t believe its almost here: the day I marry my very best friend in the whole world, the man who supports me in everything I do, who inspires me to be a calmer, more tolerant person, and ultimately: who loves me exactly for who I am.

I love so much more than words can express, Neil.  And I simply cannot wait to call you my husband!

I’ve been wanting to share a few of my favourite images from our engagement session on here and thought this would be a great opportunity:
